To describe a pre-excisional circumferential suture ligation technique for improving hemostasis and maintaining a clear surgical feld during excision of selected pedunculated oral soft tissue lesions.A 28-year-old woman with a pedunculated buccal mucosal lesion underwent circumferential suture ligation at the lesion stalk. After approximately 3 hours, when ischemic changes became clinically evident, the lesion was excised. Excision was completed with minimal bleeding and good surgical visibility. Healing was uneventful during 45 days of fol-low-up, and histopathology confrmed irritation fbroma.
ConclusPre-excisional circumferential suture ligation provided efective temporary vascular control and may serve as a simple, low-cost adjunctive technique for selected pedunculated oral soft tissuelesions. Further studies are needed to validateits clinical use.
